ok so it was the first nice ride day we had and my ignition died. I had to hotwire the bike for the rest of the day. The problem is in the key assembly. When you dig in there is a little white plastic peice that holds the contacts (on springs). At some point they melted and got stretched, it was just a matter of time before it gave out.
The key assembly is pretty simple to replace and I might be able to pick one up for $20 but I was hoping someone might have a used one laying around and that I could buy that little white part from ya. Then I can fix my old one and still use the same key. Then I wouldn't have to carry a differnet one for the seat, cover and steering locks.
