What is under the rubber between the cylinders, is the scale from the water, or is the talc applied to protect the rubber by YAMAHA OEM? What should I do, remove the white stuff and put talc on? Or apply corrosion protection, oil to protect? Carsten from Germany

Here are some Fotos.....

Sorry the photos are very bad! They are little white crumbs, similar to the lime deposits in the bathroom. When you touch the stuff it's a bit sticky, like I said, I assume factory talc. It's easy to remove, but is it supposed to be, or is it a protection?

Low spot in casting collection of water and simply corrosion of the aluminum. The coolant lines same thing.
