Early happy birthday Bill!

This morning, I took Woona to the shop to get the front wheel bearings checked. Fortunately, they seem fine after both Dave and Randy checked the bike over. So, since I saved an anticipated $80, I spent half of it ordering a new set of handlebars. The difference in grip position may not be much, but a little difference can be VERY noticeable in the comfort department. They shall be here on Monday.

This is my idea for repainting the 'Godzilla' on the rear fender..

Yeah, Todd makes good quality stuff!

I rode to Home Depot to find some lengths of pipe to fix some bent Kuryakyn grips.

Forgot my backpack, cause I did not expect to be goin there to get the stuff. I ended up rednecking the two lengths of pipe to the bike.

Now... I did not feel like messing with the rubber inserts, getting them back into the grip, only to have to pull them back out when I got home, but I did not wanna ride like this. Need to find a solution.

I'm glad you have them so I can still hear them once in awhile. Have fun with them. those in line fours just don't sound as tough in my opinion. Thats one thing I'll miss But I'm going to get other things that my max didn't have.

Changed out my fake Chinese turn signals to genuine Yamaha stock turn signals. Far superior to that after market crap IMO. Changed out my bent rear rotor.. (Forgot the lock was on one day and backed it up.. Ooops.. :bang head: Brought one from Ebay last year, just got a chance to work on it today. Tried to change out my brake pads but the rear one wont fit. Too big.. I need Sean's email address.

Its [email protected]

Dont worry, after a while you will memorize it....like a lot of people here have.

Changed the shift pattern of the bike from 1 down....4 up, to 1 up...4 down, so basically I reversed it. Took about an hour to do, and most of that was spent grinding.

I had read about this in an old Vboost ( a wealth of info there)...and when I met Don Smith last week, he had done it to his bike, so figured why not?

After a quick ride around town....it feels AWESOME!!!! VERY positive upshifts (which are now down shifts)

I didnt know you can do that with stock equipment... i know i can with my rearsets. Still on the fence about trying it though...

I didn't know either. I would consider doin it, but I am so ingrained with the stock pattern, I'm afraid I would mess up shifting pretty badly. Probably take it up to 8k in 2nd merging on the interstate, then accidentally drop her into 1st thinking I am going to 3rd...

and there goes my engine

I think a heel/toe shifter setup would be more what I need. Maybe I could find a machine shop around here that could build one up for me. I would just have to do some careful measurements with my feet on the pegs positioned how they normally are when I ride to know exactly where the heel shift needs to be placed.

Finally finished the Venture Max build. Work on a few bugs and send it home.
