    On the cheep

G'day Kansasbugkiller! If you need a hand with your vmax, this is the best place. I would be OK with ringing you from Australia to talk you through something like fork seals. That doesn't even sound like it would take any effort at all, so don't be shy about asking for a bit of help! (My...

How to modify a Stebel Horn for easier fitment to a vmax

Steampunk is Victorian era (1837 - 1901) artifacts with modern type technology. Steampunk has its roots in sci-fi and Jules Verne type stuff. This is probably a reasonable example - a digital clock that looks like it is 150 years old...

How to modify a Stebel Horn for easier fitment to a vmax

My bike is still at the shop. WA=Wait Awhile I think I'll try and mount the compressor where the coil packs were, and devise a clever method of clamping the horn to the frame. I have to add a hose tail to the horn as well. I thought the Harbor Freight one looked identical, so it might be the...

How to modify a Stebel Horn for easier fitment to a vmax

You can separate the compressor from the air horn easily. Makes fitment easier. There are 2 retaining points. Then it comes apart. I'm sure you can see what needs doing. :punk:

    Vent Cap Installation

Not that I disagree, but rather would like to point out that this sub-forum is called "Drive shaft/Differential". :ummm: I propose it be renamed simply "Final Drive".

    Don't blast me

What you have described is no v-boost. Check the cable is moving is the first step. Actually, check to see if the v-boost servo cycles when you turn the key on. It will make whirring noises from under the faux tank.

    Chain drive info and pictures

I am interested in seeing how this goes. Thanks for the informative pics. Is the notch in the frame and the mods to the tank for the chain? It's looking good!

    UFO 4/1 sound

I like the SBC lumpy idle on yours. Sounds nice.

    Oil pressure

10psi at idle is great! As it gets worn out, the oil pressure at idle will slowly drop. But for now, be happy!

    Bad boy horn

I think so. The Bad Boy horn is a copy of the Stebel. I was just looking at the Harbour Freight site, and it says the BadBoy can be split in half, and you can mount the compressor and horns separately. That would make it easier to fit! I thought about that with the Stebel, but haven't tried...

    Oldsmobile

I still recommend Mad Monkey Cycles Exporting LLC to people! One day I'll find you someone with a bank account that supports the size of their dreams.

    LED turn signals

Ballast resistors waste power, thus negating the power saving of having LED's. The flashers can be changed for a car one, but there is a couple of things to consider. Firstly, the flasher needs to be "variable load". However, some variable load flashers need a minimum amount of current going...

I can't find anywhere good to put my Stebel horn either. Keep us up to date with this horn, and how you go!
