My Gen2 VMAX buddy is trying to disconnect the gas line at the tank. Been so long I can't remember how I did it.. There is a Yellow clip gets pulled up but won't release. Someone done this recently?? Thanks

I clean and re oil sometime after about+5k miles. Takes longer to get to the dam filter then to clean and oil it. As you all know, what a dumb design.

No.. going to stub out the starter button wires at the solenoid to a spot where I can get to it from under the seat, bypassing the handlebar button in the event it fails on the road.

That is a very good idea! The next time I'm in by the solenoid I'm going to put in a remote starter button. That will guarantee my starter button will never fail again!! 🙂

My 2009 is frozen also. Has been for a long time. I suspect from riding in all kinds of wet weather., And salt from up north.

I almost got stuck once because of the starter button. It's a cheap piece of crap that is open to the environment. Every year or so I disassemble where the button is and rub a old style points file on the contacts a few times. Never had the problem again. It is also difficult if not impossible...

Pics like that give me a sick feeling. I can still remember as a kid and my teen years going to the junk yard and seeing how smashed some of the cars were. Unimaginable people survived some of those crashes.

Do yourself a favor a pick up a Digital Multimeter at Harbor Freight or Amazon. Once you read the book/ instructions you'll be good. One day you'll think how did I ever get by without this thing. Guaranteed! :)

I'm thinking something electrical/Ignition related problem also.
