That 14 might just being the charging voltage and skin effect from the tender. 12.4 sounds fine to me. Also, you might check to be sure your attachment point for the charger stuff isn't the problem. Brian (Redbone) had this happen with his, and had to just disconnect the whole apparatus before...

I have one without the lettering. It's good for taking a little blast off your chest and keeping the bugs off your speedo housing. Not really an "adds 300 miles to your day in comfort" shield, though. That's what the National Cycles one is for.

Use a jack to hold the pipes up when you try to fight them back on. And watch out for getting the gaskets all janky. They can tear/peel/crush pretty easily if you get things not quite lined up.
