    So I picked up a Carbon Fiber edition 1999 Vmax with around ~23k miles this weekend. First impressions are it sounds awesome and is fairly comfy compared to the SS bikes I've owned in the past. I rode it from Tampa to West palm area (~200 miles) and I averaged 24.7 mph.... thats my only gripe...

    Problem solved, he just didnt hook the ground up! simple fix. I now own a vmax :) Stay tuned for a "what the heck do I have here thread" lol

    It sounds like when he removed the battery to replace it and the connecting wire (negative) became disconnected from wherever it grounds out? is that possible?

    First off, I'm new here, so thanks for creating this forum Secondly, I'm far from new to bikes, but very new to VMax's... anyway, I found a bike, its a 1999 VMAX with 23k miles, and aesthetically its in very good condition. PREEMPTIVE APOLOGY IF this has been covered, I did search though ;)...
