Can anyone tell me the bolt size that connects the shift linkage to the trans as mine is missing. :ummm: It is the one that squeezes the linkage to the shift shaft on the trans. Don't know how else to describe it.
I have noticed a rattling noise when driving on rough roads on my 2000 Vmax, and found that I am missing the bolt that goes through the fender and into bottom of the seat area (from the bottom up). It is the center one that is missing, and it appears to be different from the ones on the sides...
hey guys took the wheels off the gen 2 i ordered a service manual for the bike not here yet was wondering if anyone had the torque specs for --
front axle bolt
front clamp bolts
caliper bolts
rear axle torque
rear caliper
rear clamp bolts
can't find vboost servo.
My bolts are pretty stripped and are also pretty tight. Anyone have some suggestions to removing these and once they are removed a good source for Allen type bolts to replace these? Does anti-seize help this unstick?
Second question, to stick the Vboost on...
Is there an auto seal washer that will work with the bolt or stick with Yama washer? I've tried both alum and copper and still seem to be getting a very small leak after riding.
SO i tore apart my clutch to inspect but more so to add another spring. Even after reading and knowing not to tighten the 6 bolts holding the spring retainer in place, well I busted one off. Damn those are soft bolts! My question is should I be overly concerned about having that 6th bolt in...
I have an OEM backrest that I need to tap out two of the bolts and helicoil them back to size. Does anyone know what the size of the stock bolt that holds the upper backrest frame to the bottom mounting frame? Is it M6 x 1.00?
Thanks in advance,
Boy, I'm pooched now! Was installing a new slave cylinder into my 85 VMAX, and POOF! One of the two allen screws that holds it on just decided to SNAP! After cussing like a sailor for about 5 minutes, now I have to figure out how to get it out. It's the top bolt, and there is NOTHING left...
:bang head::bang head:I over tighten the bolt that attaches the oil cover... Took it to the stealership... and the bolt got stripped. I just changed the oil so i can go for at least another 3000. I found another cover and bolt for 25 shipped. Any advice? They were talking about cracking the old...
Working on a '94 VMAX and putting the oil filter back on. What is the oil filter bolt torque spec? I tried searching around for it but wasn't able to find it.
Also, how do you know if you have the right amount of oil? Have the bike level and look at the window I assume... but how high on...
Last night I finally mounted my Carr.wheel up front. It wouldn't spin due to the fact the rotor bolt on the right side was contacting the fork tube. It wasn't by too much as I could force it by. On the left side (speedo drive side) there was .070 inch clearance. The bolts are titanium low...
Checking to see if anyone is having a problem on a chain drive bike with the bolt at the middle gear bearing coming loose. After about 100miles the bolt starts to get loose. I have tried red locktight and staking the bolt, but still it backs out. Any ideas on how to solve the problem. :ummm...
I got my new Bridgestones mounted and was torquing everything down. I misread the chart I was looking at and accidentally overtorqued the axle clamp bolt to the value for the caliper bolt and sheared it off :bang head:
Fortunately, I was able to retrieve the part of the shank that was stuck in...
My right fork is leaking oil out the damper rod bolt. I compressed the forks all the way and damper rod still spins and i cannot tighten the bolt. Is there a trick to this? forks are on the bike.
Been doing some reading on here and I haven't been able to find better calipers for a 85 model that just bolt on with no adapters. Are there any out there and if so are they so hard to find that it's just better to go with the busa calipers instead? If there are what bike models should I be...
I dont have an allen socket for my torque wrench. I think the torque is only 4 lbs. I just tightened it until the swingarm had no side to side play then gave it a little snug. Is this ok or do i need to go buy some tools? Or does anyone have another way of doing it? Thanks
