Just bought the 2005 Vmax, however I have big feet. Seems I really have to angle my foot to change the gears up, was wondering is it adjustable, and if so what is the stock setting? Want to make sure that it's not adjusted already for the previous owner. Thanks,
Ron
Well, I finally ordered parts today, so I'll be able to get these out soon. I was wondering if people want to send me their clutch levers, I'll do the mod and return them, or would you want a whole new lever? I called the Yamaha dealer and I can get the levers for a little under $20, the bolts...
The front brake lever on my 85 is grabby. What happens is when I pull the brake it does very little then about 1/2 an inch of grab in it catches and about throws me off the front of the bike...
Any suggestions on what to do or inspect?
Was riding home from work today minus gloves so had left hand down by motor and noticed that my clutch lever was going all over the place . Checked it at home and it moves about an inch inwards and about half an inch up and down , is this normal give for this ? Also sometimes bike has trouble...
Does anybody know if a FJR clutch lever will fit on a stock clutch master cyl ? I want the adjustability of the FJR lever, but I'm too much of a cheapa$$ to buy a master if I don't need it. Yamahammer sells the lever for 58 bucks, but they probably won't take it back if it doesn't fit.
I seen a thread in here about this mod but no explination on how to do it. I found this step by step proceedure on how to do it on a thread from vmaxchat forum. thought some of you maybe interested. The following is the thread as posted;

Hey Gang...
Might be a silly question :confused2:
My vboost controller has stopped working, checked the servo with the battery test and it will operate when hard wired.
Here goes...
I wanted to go with full time vboost anyway, so, my question is this.
Since I would like to run...
anyone have an alternate clutch lever? it is quite a reach for me and in traffic it gets to be a real chore. it doesn't seem like you need the whole lever movement and a lever with less span would still engage the clutch enough.
any thoughts?
thanks
After a little more then a month on her Sv, my wife figured she was ready for a shot on the Max. being that I've been the one trainer her, I felt she was more then up to the task of just riding up and down our street. So I let her take a shot. She made several passes with no issue at all...
Did the clutch lever mod, I have a couple pics of one of the old levers with the bearing inserted if anyone would like to see it. I got the information from an old issue of the V-Boost. So you can find all the details and information on what it takes there if you are interested.
