scoops

Hi! After getting my bike out of winter storage the bike began to leak small amounts(drops) of brake fluid at the scoops. I know this because its eating my paint! Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Does anyone know who makes the Grilles (metal or plastic) for the Exactrep MegaScoops 1997. Exactrep does not manufactures them (checked with them already). Other than that, I would have to fit something. The scoops come in metal or plastic (mines are plastic) and you can easily cut an opening...

I have an '97 with the high polish top and black bottom scopes. Despite Waxing them last year before storage and having the bike under a cover inside the garage over the winter, I have spots of corrosion on the scups. I looks like the high polish is covered with a clear coat and the clear coat...

I'm considering having the side scoops chromed, also the side covers below the seat. Has anyone here had this done and by who and how much. I ws qouted at a chrome shop in Calgary 100-150/piece, does this sound fair? Cheers'

My 99 has the half polished alum, half black air scoops from the factory, what's a good home fix to remove the black paint from the lower half with out scuffing or marring up the aluminum? I like the full polished aluminum look. Thanks.

Any opinions on painting my side scoops. I'm going to paint the faux tank, fenders and side panels black with a light diamond dust flake with a lot of clear over it to give it a lot of depth. Had this done before on an old maxim and it looked awesome. I just don't know if i should also paint...

I've had these for a couple weeks, finally got them to the point of putting them on a bike. Had them on Strafer first but they just didn't go with the colors on the bike. Scoop inserts are "Stringy Blue / White Clouds in a Black Sky". Paint is Textured, Shimmer Black, gives them a Grayish Tint...

Looks metal but sounds like plastic I have a 1990 was wanting to know I was going to polish it if it was aluminium any one know and if it is what's the best stuff to use

My side scoops were painted black when I bought the bike, but I prefer the aluminum look. Is there a good product / method of paint removal from these covers that won't damage the surface?

This is a topic I have running on vmaxchat.co.uk as well. Notice how the curves on the air scoops are misaligned with the carb disphram covers. Has anyone else come across this before? Thus far the debate is whether the bikes frame is bent, or the carbs are not seated properly. Im convinced...
