Hey i have tried several different keychains and have not found any that dont scratch the scoop. This is just an IDEA and i dont have a clue as who or where you can get them made but would the owners of the forum be interested in maybe coming up with a vmax custom keychain design and selling...

I have to cut some clearance in the left side scoop on my Max. It is an aftermarket scoop and made of fiberglass. It also has a custom paint job on it. Sooooo heres the question: How do I cut clearance in it without F * c k ing up the scoop and paint? From what I have researched I have three...

I'd like to replace the screens in the scoops with solid chrome ones. Not the ones with slashes and logos but just solid chrome. Any availalbe? Thanks..........

Finally got around to this. Seems that the best answer is to use an acrylic diffuser in place of the standard black plastic frame that holds your screens. I'll probably be going to LED, ATM however here is a rough test with an incandescent unit, and a diffuser I fabricated from 1/8" acrylic...

They turned out pretty good. A lot of work!

What has anybody done with the aluminum side scoops when corrosion sets in on them? Paint, podwer coat, black anadize? any suggestions/

Was just cleaning my bike and am wondering what and how to clean the scoops ? Are they aluminium or plastic coated ? What you recommend as would like it nice and shiny like my chrome .:ummm:

I got a 2002 Max and am interested in polishing the scoops. I remember seeing a thread that explained in great detail along with pics on how to do that. Does anyone remember that? ANy help would be great guys. Also.....what is your take on polishing...can the average wrench turner do this or...

I personally don't like the lower black paint on the scoops. Is there a simple way to do this yourself? If not can you get it done anywhere (what do you ask for)? Or, do you have to buy them predone (where?)
