I bought those Chinese made piggyback shocks on ebay and they're soft. I weigh 200 pounds and i've been bottoming out. I sent a question to the ebay seller. He said the shocks are filled with the lowest pressure because of shipping. What i want to know is do i have to fill the shocks with only...

I've got a set of Progressive 440 rear shocks that are 12" eye to eye. I wanna get my bike up a lil higher for a lil better handling. These were great til i put on the USD and the 17" rear wheel/tire, now the whole bike is lower than i want it. The shocks have 190lb springs from what i was told...

I have been doing some intitial research and measurements and believe that a pair of shocks made for the 03-04 R1 might be made to work on the Max. Plan is to work on getting a set mounted in the next month or so, have to modify the top bushing mount to accept a Vmax bushing, and fit testing...

Anyone interested in a mint set of Progressive 412 rear shocks? They are 11" long. I picked up a set of 12" 440s and they suit me better.

Which adjusts which? Does the dial on the top of the shock adjust damping and the bottom piece adjust pre-load?

They are always on eBay and look to be pretty high quality. Does anyone use them?

Not sure if anyone is looking but there is a guy selling a pair of new progressive 440's for a buy it now price of $299.99 on flea bay. Seems to be a good price as everyone seems to be selling at $480 or higher. I'd buy them but I'm tapped right now. Chris

I noticed two things since I got my '86 Max: - my rear shocks don't have any damping adjustment - I can't get the bike on its centre stand unless I roll the rear wheel on a plank. So I think someone put shorter shocks to lower the bike :bang head:, and I would like to go back to stock. So...

I had to swap my 12.5 inch progressives with my wifes 10.5 inch progressives.Her fazer needed to come up some with the 18" wheel and stretched swingarm.kept hitting the plate. I kind of like it.Man , it's evil low now!We'll see how it turns.

According to my measurements, the stock V-Max shocks are 13.5" eye to eye. My recently purchased 418 Progressives are 12.5" eye to eye. How much will this lower the rear? Anyone have this shock installed? If so, any comments / suggestions? I am sure I will have to modify the side and...
