While breaking down my bike in preparation of the arrival of Sean's shim kit I noticed some carbon buildup on the back side of my intake valves. What would be the cause of this (running rich) and the solution to clean them up without complete tear down? thanks in advance, Bill

Just tore the MITYMAX down for it's 3rd Valve adjustment.Didn't need shims this time.Valve lash for intake & exhaust were to factory specs.Only took us 3 hours.If u haven't had this done yet,these pic's will show what to expect. Have fun.:biglaugh:

Does anyone have a good place to buy OEM replacement parts? I'm looking at $25.00 for a valve cover gasket which is fine, I guess. But the rubber mounts are $7-$8 ea times 16...YIKES!!.......Is there a trick to refurbishing them maybe?? TIA.

Whats the "norm" when adjusting valves? Mine seemed to be pretty tight. If I am using my feelers correctly all my exhaust valves were around .008in and I went down about 3 shim sizes on average....005mm increments...so if it was say a 260 shim I ended up going down to a 245 shim...and ended up...
