my 2000 max has just under 18k miles on the clock, I do not know if the valves have ever been checked or adjusted. Is there a normal interval that I should be checking valve lash and adjusting if neccessary?

Hi guys I've got an 89 vboosted and it's had a had a hard life. I've just done a compression test and i'm down on one cyclinder others are reading 160 psi and 120 so i think it time for a valve grind. my question is do you have to remove the motor in order to get to the valve seats.

When you have the valve covers off for an adjustment there is notches in the front and rear cam chain tunnel on the head for guides. Is there supposed to be a guide in both front of the head and back of the head? Thanks Jim N

I've got the rear valve cover off of the bike. Did some cleaning and polishing and the old gaskets were leaking. Have new OEM gaskets. What is the best way to get the rear valve cover and gasket back on the bike without going insane? And the front?
