Why would you get a salvage title as replacement of misplaced one?

Because it's a salvaged title bike. I hate the phrase but "it is what it is." A salvaged title bike.

I wonder why his VIN is not similar to my 85, which starts out with JYA1FK? Also, doing a google search, that VIN also pops up as a Mercedes VIN somewhere out of BumFck Egypt.

I'd want to lay eyes on that bike before putting down even 1/4 of that asking price.

I see the ad for the Mercedes is also out of Phoenix, AR. Perhaps this person got the titles mixed up when listing the two vehicles on the web that day?

I was questioning that too. Did the 85's go up to the 9K's as the last four in the VIN?

My first bike was a salvage bike, I loved my Virago. I doubt I would pay half of what he want for a salvage...You will never get the $$$, unless you part it out..
