Mike and I were talking about you a bit and wondering if you decided to do a little something to the '97 motor and then slip it in your bike. Of course the big problem there would be the trans on the '97 which Had some problems (according to the guy that wrecked it)

That bikes long gone. I ended up trading it for my first Hayabusa ( a 99 ) and some cash.

I did contemplate building a 1570 motor for the Vmax, but that just wasn't going to be fast enough for the money invested.

The turbo Busa will bury any built Vmax first or second gen and cost me less then my first Vmax did. I just couldnt turn it down.

Though I did ride the ******* yesterday ( Vmax ) and how much fun it is to ride as it is, I am kinda glad I kept is all stock.

New tires going on Turbo Busa Tuesday morning. So if I can get it all taken care of I might take that as I don't think I ll be doing fork seals anytime soon.

Well just bought the FRAM, it's all I ever used along with my ROTELLA T6 5W-40 SYNTHETIC. One of these days I will break out of my routine,,,,,,

At any rate the forcast for the 27th is rain, 40% I believe. I don't know about you guys, but I would not ride for an hour to a meet, just to get rained on. I think we should have a back-up plan, any thoughts????

It's going to be sunny and 65 on the 27th The first rule in riding street bikes is No one preaches about rain

Thats alot better Chad and we still have 8 days so it will turn for the good. 65 and sunny I say damn it.

Is that Rotella made for motorcycles?
It is JASO MA rated for use in Motorcycles:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_Rotella_T
JASO-MA
JASO is an acronym that stands for "The Japanese Automotive Standards Organization." Among other things, they set standards for oil to be used in motorcycles.
Shell Rotella T 15W-40 conventional oil does list on its packaging JASO MA as one of the specifications it meets. Note that the 10W-30 conventional oil does not list JASO-MA.
The newer fully synthetic T6 5W-40 oil lists JASO-MA compliance on its packaging and on the Rotella website.

I won't be making this ride, it's our wedding anniversary and we will be out of town for the weekend. My bike is still in hibernation, ordering a new dry cell battery today and I need to change the oil. I like to do a few smaller shakedown rides anyway before I go that far away from home, just to make sure no Vmax gremlins entered during hibernation.

Unfortunately, I can't make this "first season" ride either. Picking up my son who's flying into Metro at 11:15 am on Saturday and driving back to Midland. Next time....

Sorry to hear it jeff and chuck. You will be missing out on some primo smoke. :biglaugh:

My wife just walked in and said i dont even want to know. :rofl_200:

Lee, Jared and I hit downtown Grand Rapids today, river is cresting and it was cool to check out, had a great time!........We had to lay down some 2nd gear rollers for the crowds.........:punk:..........Tom.

Hey Jeff and Chuck, you will be missed, but there will be other rides!!! I just changed the oil in the old girl, unplugged the tender, pushed the choke and hit the MAGIC BUTTON,,,,,,,,VROOOMMMMM she fired up like she never hibernated. I am hoping to get some miles on her before Saturday just to make sure no Gremlins showed up here either.
