Really...With the ignoring us?
That's it Ghost! I'm gassed up and coming over with my own camera, I'll take pic's of your bike myself. Might even brake it in for ya.

thats KJs bike, and very nicely done.

i like a shift light NG as i have it set for 8800 so when i'm running thru the gears hard it acts as a "make sure ur shifting by now' light. kind of just a cheap insurance. sometimes after long jaunts on the highway i can't hear the engine as well either.

ghost, check out harlan. cheap and work well.
I have the Harlan shift light and it works great for me as well. I like the insurance it gives me when I am riding with my brother and stop sign racing.
I can hear my Mark's exhaust pretty well so I am normally shift just as it flashes at 8800 rpms or just after. I think a shift light backs up the Vmax image as a drag racing motorcycle.

Riding in big groups is insanely dangerous when you are inexperienced. Actually, to be honest, its dangerous even if you have experience because somebody else in the group might make a mistake and cause a huge domino effect.

If that's what you really like to do, then so be it, but give yourself a really nice space cushion or stay at the very back.

Also, its really boring because everybody has to go so dang slow and you're just part of a herd, but that part is not dangerous, just mind numbingly painful.

As for the freeway part, it just raises the stakes. You will quickly find that folks in cars see the space that you are occupying as a free spot and they'll quickly zip into it. It's almost as though they are sucked into the void as if you're presence creates an insurmountable vacuum. Nevermind that you are there on a motorcycle minding your own business.

They don't notice you because they are on their cell phone, doing their makeup, texting, reading the newspaper, yelling at their kids, fighting with their spouse, etc., etc., etc.

The point is, you have you be on your defensive when on the freeway and the high speeds make the game more dangerous. Folks just don't look out for motorcycles. They only look out for other big cars. That's just life.

Just be careful. That's my only point. I drive like a bat out of hell on long empty roads, and I'm not exactly sheepish around town and on the freeway, but I keep loads of space from other crazies, whether they are on bikes or in cages, and I'm always on the look out for the next sucker that's gonna try to mow me down.

I have no problem doing things that have an element of danger, but at the same time, I balance that danger with appropriate precaution.

That's kept the shiny side up for 20 years of riding. Let's hope for another 20 more.

Ok I see the point. I guess I wasn't thinking about the danger part. I have only been riding on the street a few years and have had a few really stupid $%!QW@$ pull right out in front of me after making eye contact. Its a lovely world we live in.

None of this brings us any closer to seeing pictures of course. :bang head:

Man, now I'm hopin he didn't dump it on the first ride and can't take pics until its cleaned up...

Ghost, dude we need to hear from you

He's prolly too busy riding it to come online.. Once the bug bites the only thing that'll make you come off is that painful seat!! lol

like the Forest Gump of the vmax.
One day I started riding and anytime I needed to go some where...I WAS RIDING. Rode across the states...twice.:rofl_200:

Pics are up :) (seperate thread)

Thanks for the interest!!

Sorry it took so long. I was waiting for the dang sun to come out - but the rain hasn't let up at all. So - I took the best pics I could with bad lighting!

Hope ya'll enjoy! It's what I envision my Vmax looking like before I even went to look at the first prospective buy.

As for rising safe - AMEN.

Your grandpappy had some good advice : Everyone else on the road is an idiot. Drive accordingly.

This is my first bike I have owned.

I used to ride dirt bikes for a good few years back when I was younger - but never for transportation.

I respect this bike entirely. I have been shifting (except for one run) below 5k for the most part. She is quick and heavy. I do find she feels solid - however, it's gonna be like the first dance for a while. No way I'm even trying for first base until she walks me there ;)
