Well, I've searched all over and the closest 2015 I can find is in Pelham, Alabama, 12 hour round trip but I'm going to make it happen! I just got back from the bank and talked to the dealership at length, getting my insurance sorted out now, should be a done deal by the end of the day! I actually found a 2010 model BRAND NEW in Brenham, TX but they were wanting too much for it! The list on that bike was closer to 18K, which is WHY THEY STILL HAVE IT apparently. I told them I could get a new 2015 for 14,999 and they weren't willing to match it, so I moved on. Oh well, the black cherry color doesn't look bad to me, I'm sure I'll get used to it! So excited to be having a new 2nd generation VMAX! I've had over a hundred bikes in my life time, and this will be my VERY FIRST BRAND NEW bike! I think I've earned it! :punk:

Sweet !!! I never rode a stock gen 2 before but from what I hear engine break is awful and speed limiter sucks But most all the mods are expensive the mod monkey bites hard for gen 2 . Any way congrats on your purchase..

AWESOME!!!!!!!

Been thinking about doing the same thing. With people wanting $4K for 25 year old Max's and $7500 for 10 year old Max's, I'm about to give up and look for something new.

Congrats! I just got a Gen2 10 days ago and so far I love it! All stock and plenty of power as it is :)

Congrats TSST....you done good! I love that black cherry color...there were some tins (plastics) for sale on the GenII forum but I missed 'em.

Anyhow....enjoy your NEW ride! :thumbs up:

Say....how come that right side muffler is all dented up?? Juuust kidding!! :biglaugh:

MAN I"M JELOUS!!!! congrats love that color too, should be a blast to ride, have fun and be careful !!!!!!!!! but not too careful LOL

I like that color, send it to me if you get tired of looking at it.

I can't believe you never had one new bike in that lot. I would have saved some $$$ from buying, refurbishing, and selling a few, and bought at least one new one somewhere along that time. You picked a good one to start with.

My first new bike was a 1972 Yamaha 360 Enduro, which I raced right from the start, not a barn-burner, but I had tons of fun w/my friends on that bike, and I still have it! It cost a good dinner over $1K when I bought it in SW MI. I raced enduros and hare scrambles on it, never came close to winning anything, but I developed my skills considerably.

Yes, the mods on the Gen II come dearly ($$$) but if you can't afford to play, you won't own one anyway!

Enjoy the bike.

Well, in 1984 I bought an 82 CB450T Hawk that was a dealer demo bike with like 600 miles on it when I got it, still had that factory smell. LOL. Also, my B-King wasn't new, but it felt new, it only had 5K miles on it when I got it and was completely spotless. I would have bought one of these in 2009 if they price wasn't so high. Just decided it was time to get one, but when I REALLY started looking at the market, and the bikes in the 10K range, I just figured it didn't make sense NOT to spend the extra 5K and get a warranty, and KNOW the history of the bike I'm getting. Just had to sell "one extra" bike to make it happen. LOL. :punk:

Congrats! :clapping:

I really had doubts you would ever pull the trigger. :confused2:

The Gen 2 was my first new bike as well....that makes it even more special to me.

You're going to love it I'm sure.

Best of luck with the bike, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Mark

Thanks Mark. First question, break in period? How and how many miles???

That's awesome! I love that color! You're gonna have a blast on it!

Thanks Mark. First question, break in period? How and how many miles???

The initial break in period is 600 miles, at that point the engine oil and differential oil needs to be changed. After that that they recommend keeping it under 7000 rpm until 1000 miles.

None of that is really possible LOL, but these are just guidelines. I took it easy for the first 600, changed the fluids and started riding harder after that. At 1200 miles I changed the oil again to synthetic and started riding normally.:biglaugh:

Here is a link to the owners manual to mull over while you are waiting for your bike.

And the service manual (you won't need that until you start modding).

Thanks Mark, now, talk to me about ECU's and "reflashing", and aftermarket exhausts. I bet that's probably going to be my first set of modifications! :biglaugh:

Can't find a version of the owner manual that is enabled for printing :bang head: Does anybody has one?

I can print the manual when I follow Mark's link. Not sure why you can't. Perhaps it's in your I-net settings?

Actually it looks like if you just open it from the link you can print it. If you download it, save it and try to print the saved version it won't allow it.
