was told by John golden who owns rolling thunder dyno ..if it dont cross at 5250 the dyno machine is not set up right could inflate numbers ..at the time i was on a vtwin. i see some at 5250 and some crossing over 7000 rpm...theres something not right

It may depend on if the graph is reading the R's in the same spot on the page for the for the torque and hp.

You are correct though. HP is a calculation of torque.

You have to look at the scaling on the left and right side of the graph. If the scaling is the same then the lines will physically cross at 5250 as well as the tq and hp #'s

If the scaling is different from the left and right side then the lines will not physically cross at 5250, in which case you have to actually compare the tq and horsepower numbers themselves. on a proper graph the numbers WILL be the same at 5250 even though the lines do not physically cross at 5250.

Clear as mud?

The calculation of HP and Torque make it a mathematical certainty that both will cross at 5250. If it doesn't appear to then there is a reason like the way it is charted.
