Wayne, My prayers go out to you... Best of Luck... Technology for Spine Surgery is so advanced, everything should go perfect. Surgery, when possible is the fastest fix. Thinking good thoughts for You till this is done and you're riding....
In 1997, I was involved in a head on collision. An 83 YO had missed his Doctors Office and U Turned head on with me. I had been in several accidents over the years and was disabled because of them. This one almost put me in a wheel chair. It took me away from riding for the next 7 years. I just couldn't hold a bike up.
We spoke with the best Neuro Surgeon in our area shortly after the accident and he spent 45 minutes with us. Saying that I had so many injuries, he didn't feel confident that he could fix enough in one session. He felt that I would never get back out of bed because of the "Down Time", if I were to have surgery and suggested that when I could no longer deal with the pain or couldn't walk he would operate. He told me to fight back all that I could, anything that would strengthen my back. Short ending. I bought a 19' boat in really, really sad shape and worked my butt off for whatever time I could in a day. When I got the boat finished, I was putting in a lot of hours per day. Today, my back is in fairly good shape considering. I still have a lot of pain at times but I'm able to ride. I just ride faster and not for long distances as I once did...:clapping:
