He's on an east coast trip with his wife this weekend, Let's plan a lakeshore ride and he can crash at my place, that way we can spend the whole day out there!.........................Tom.

What's up with the weather????? Wel I'm only 20 minutes away from the meet, so I am playin it by ear, but I really wana ride!!!!

You guys have a great & safe ride !! I'll be thinking of ya, while sitting in a church.... watching a wedding.... then having dinner at the reception. Damn, wish I could be riding !! :bang head: Next time !

Your a good family man Jeff, they would never forget that you bailed on their wedding to go riding with a bunch of hooligans!............We'll be getting together soon enough, there's a lot of rides/events happening this summer..........................Tom.

I'm still on the sidelines, but even if Redbone was up to it I need to stay near home. There is a huge fire near where i grew up and have many friends that are in the danger zone.
We need some rain so very badly but there is very little in the forecast!!! I bet if I had a ride planned and there was no fire it would freaking rain, I mean WTF!!!
Here are some pictures:

Local Fishing lodge, bar, store, gas station, cabins for rent and a part of our history is now reduced to this:
Rainbow Lodge or it was.jpg
This lodge was located at the mouth of the Two Hearted river where it flows into Lake Superior. The region is known for excellant trout fishing, I'm sure it will be back in time though.

Wow!...........How did the fire start?............Lightening strike or man made?.........I hope everyone get's out of harms way, things can be replaced.............Tom.

Wow, what a bummer! Being an avid snowmobiler I was thru that area MANY times over the past 20 years. Got gas and ate there numerous times......Darn!:snow:

Just started raining here in Battle Creek. Hopefully it clears up in the next hour.

Scott

Weathers not looking too good..............I'm gonna call this one off again......:damn angry:........Hope I can catch everyone in time.....................Tom.

Hey all 9:07 hear in Lansing and it is sprinkling. Weather map shows it on it's way out. Maybe we can just push the time back an hour and meet at 11:00?

It started with a lightnig strike on Monday, they fought it all week but high winds (40+mph) fanned the flames Thursday and Friday. What was a less than 15,000 ac fire has quickly climbed to close to 25,000 ac with NO CONTAINMENT! The U.P. had a very low snowfall winter, light rains this spring so our forests are tinder dry, especially the large tracts of pine forests. If you have a Facebook account I have quite a few pictures and some links to the fire current activity.

You know I love giving that tour Tom, if anyone wants to ride it just let me know and I will be happy to lead the way. I hope everyone will make the Traverse city ride this season and I will be hosting another Muskegon Bike Time get together again this year. I'm sure I can make a batch of jerky for the ride also :biglaugh:
