My life is good, and much less complicated I think. For example: I'm leaving in an hour for NYC to see a Saturday matin?e on Broadway. I'm not taking a sidearm, gas mask, or any potassium iodide tablets with me! Not even a knife!!

My comment is going to ruffle feathers and probably yours. But regardless here it is.

You believe the world is a safe place. That people wont hurt your or your loved ones. That the threats people talk about are far from your safe bubble of a world.

I am so very glad that you believe this and can go to sleep at night. It must be a peaceful world for you.

I pray nothing ever happens to you or your loved ones. Sincerely I do.

But I know for a fact that the world is a evil cruel unfair place. That the strong survive and the weak are enslaved or killed. I am a history buff to a degree, mostly because of my line of work. History continually repeats itself. And when situations like what is happening right now in the world arise, people will stand up or be enslaved. I want neither. I want a alternative to fighting and killing, destruction of the world etc.

I wish for peace, but prepare for war, because its inevitable. There is no stopping the war machine ( not necessarily a killing machine, but a enslavement process ) when it sets its sights on things. The only thing we can do is to educate others around us about the short comings of the direction we are heading into. If that doesn't work, then I guess those that thought the world was a beautiful carefree place will be enslaved by those that see it as a money power hungry possibility. Those that choose to stand for the freedoms our brothers, sisters, fathers, fore fathers spilled their blood to give you and I, will stand again and fight for the truth and honesty.

Nazi Germany used media to twist peoples conceptions and look how care free and peaceful that turned out.....

I don't think there is anyone here thats sitting by the door waiting for "them" to burst in. Every day life has its fun things that we all enjoy, Example: I'm hanging out with my kids now, and later I'm racing my Vmax. My day isn't spent worrying about what could happen. I guess the point from my perspective is, don't think for a second it can't all go away in a heartbeat, Whether in a personal tragedy or an economic collapse. There's a lot of guys here on the board that can attest to that. Doesn't NYC have evacuation plans? Why is that?
