Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

I was disappointed myself.. As far as the admits are concerned, perhaps they can simply open a user account with Jon's name on it. He also deserves the soon to be new award for "Beyond Typical Invention".. -hint hint-..
Also, for his kids sake, please refrain from adding things like "Jon was a good guy but.." Everyone has problems with someone sometime.

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

Mod creation is what i thought we are voting on. Lets stick with that.

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

Let's get Jon's award sorted out first than add the Mod Invention Award category... If we may admins??

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

i don't know who i'd give it to though.

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

Can't you create an account on his behalf..

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

i guess but then i'd have to go create another email addr for it. Buster may have admin access to do it directly, lets see what he says.

Thanks... I'm sure his family would also like it..

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

I thought we were voting on the "purple heart" award. Mod creation would be the mod monkey....wouldn't it?

I thought mod monkey was an award given to someone who tricks out their ride, not creates generally large improvements towards both Gen's. Regardless, while we're on it, Jon, Sean, Tim and a select few should be given another award altogether. Including the admins and those who went above and beyond their respective limits with the VMOA...(for example).

If the admins wish they can separate this whole fiasco and leave this thread specifucally for Jons purple heart. Just my 2 ©…

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

I've not selected yes or no since I am torn as to the intent of the award.

A purple award for a death - ok maybe.
But one for his contributions to this forum - no.
One for contributions to the vmax community - maybe.

I say maybe because we're finding out that many of his products he invented really were not invented by him (just look at the stuff Voodoo sells now that they invented and Jon sold as his own for double the price in some cases). There are other cases too and no sense clogging up this thread with more stuff.

Please note, that I have not ever personally had a bad transaction with Jon but in all fairness I didn't exactly have the need to have very many transactions with him either. The biggest interaction I had with Jon was a certain "grude" race a few years back. Even that was a bit tarnished in my opinion. We were supposed to be bringing street bikes to race each other. One with my carb setup and one with his vgas. Of course he shows up with one not street legal and my bike broke on the ride the night before (broke the case). So, even then I would not say the interaction was the greatest (though the event went well over all and I think everyone had a good time).

I'm just going to let Jon rest without accepting or denying an award. How does that go? I abstain.

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

Thank you Sean... There's really nothing more enlightening than clearing the air.. Cheers mate.

Bump.

Please let's get this done. Admins or others, please, if all we need is an email address I'll contact UFO and explain. Jon deserves something.. Let's concentrate on his positives!!!
He inspired many and continues to do so. Please contact my email to discuss this further if needed.. He will not and should not be forgotten. He makes Roland Sands VMax look like a toy. Common, what do you say?

Take the poll.. what year do you think the newly designed VMax will appear... if ever!

Feel free to send buster a pm, I'll post on the mods section. However afaik he was not a fan of this forum.

Re: Award Request for Jon Cornell!

I haven't voted. But if I were, I'd be leaning toward the no side of things.
Even before I joined this forum, he constantly badmouthed it and the members of it. Not individual members, but members as a whole, as being classless ******** who weren't good enough to hold his balls (That was an interesting phone call to say the least).

Friend/Foe/Family member, cancer is ******. I've lost a mother, other relatives, and friends from it. I know a few of you guys out there have too. I think if you really want to do something to memorialize your friend and turn his death into something positive, I suggest a cancer memorial fund in his name. Read through this place. This way, you get to honor your buddy, not just from an award or a thread but by spreading the word of a helpful fund in his name.

That's putting it mildly G. There are a lot of members here that are keeping quiet out of respect for John's family and friends, I'm sure. I'll remain among them as far as not posting up all the name calling and negative comments made against this membership as a whole. They can be searched if you weren't around then or somehow missed it all. But, I'm standing behind my no vote out of respect for all of you and myself. No one deserves to die this way. And, yes honor him for achievements and great service somewhere. But, to give any kind of award to a non member on this forum, that publicly said the things John did, I can't see why?

As far as I know, Jon does not have an account here. However Jon was a Vmax brother so I agree to the award. It has been awarded to him, but I don't see the logic behind creating an account for him to award it to. I'm also moving the thread to the In Memory Of forum.
Rest in peace, Jon.

I truly TRULY thank you all so very much. Everyone acted like a gentleman and that's why I love this Forum. I just wanted to see a nod one more time. When we pass a MC on the road we give our MC salute. That's fantastic. Thank you all..
