with our 15" rims is it possible with a smaller width tire, MORE rubber is actually on the road? since the wider tire bends inward more?

So what brand is this 140/15 tire you got? Also, what profile, is it still 140/90 15, or?

And I have an idea (especially for all of you drag race fans): get a lower profile tire! Like a 150/50 15, lowering the profile should help removing any speed wobble, but also make your 1/4 mile time much lower, as long as you can keep the front wheel on the ground LOL

Dunlop D-404
size...140/90-15 70 H
Just a regular run of the mill tire.

That might have more to do with the fact that the old tire was a POS with a harder compound and the new is a bit softer/stickier :confused2: Either way, sounds like you got it sorted:punk:

LOL, yes "pos" tire. I notice I'm still leaving long rubbermarks on the pavemrnt, so I guess its still spinning, but not like the other tire.

:biglaugh:193 kilometers an hour OR 120mph "STAIGHT AS AN ARROW....NO HEAD SHAKE AT ALL!!!
--- 1 slightly bent rim " he said he's seen this on new rims as well" He repaired it. Onley took a tiny weight to bring it into spec.
---- The tire was hopeless. Although new, he couldnt get it within "his specs" Tossed it :biglaugh:
---He also told me that the back tire is to big and said if I wanted better handling in the corners to go a different tire pattern and narrower.
---Installed new brigestone 140/ 90 instead of stock 150/90 He did such a good job that it needed NO weights.
----Final out come...."0" wobble. NO front end weave wobble or shake.
--- Cornering, no problems, no weave.
----lane change at 140kms,..no weave.
---The handle bars are absolutley calm at high speed. Its like riding a new bike. My trust is comming back.
--Air pressure front 35 rear 32.
--No air in front forks.
---- dont have to put my feet on the front foot pegs to steady it any more at high speed.
Now its time to paint the bike RED. "happy once again":biglaugh:
Never again will I run a spit fire tire on any thing.
Well true to my word...I have all the tins off, and am ready to paint the bike Bright red. I went to the fridge and mixed up a color I think I'm gonna like. Will post painted pics in about 1 hour. Its rediculously easy to pull the tins of the Max.

Thank you. I have 1/2 a pint left if I have to repaint down the road. I mixed yellow, red and orange and came up with the color. Not to red, not to orange.I layed 2 heavy coats of clear on till it was just about running.Looks nice and wet.

Great paint job m8!

Thanks for posting your findings. I've been pondering about the wobble for quite some time:

The rear tire as a possible problem has been pointed out before. However, I think you might be the first person who has been able to observe wheel runout and its corresponding effect at speed because the bike was on a hoist/jack.

If I can find a safe way to replicate your test on my bike, I will try it.

If I would have researched a little better...I would of looked at going to radial tires, Im not sure if you have to change the rims for this fix or not. Any way, the bike seems fine for now. Yea,..jack up the bike and let her rip,...youll very shortly see whats going on.Dont give up just yet LOL:biglaugh:
