Burnouts are fun! I beat up the rear tire pretty fast at the track though and changing it on my bike is like putting together a damn jigsaw puzzle LOL

I here ya. I feel the shinko is the best and safest 170 80 15 i can put on the vmax. and most of the time it will be on my bike. I dont think i will trust the metzler at high speeds and in sharp turns. Metzler is only good to 130mph and im well over that from time to time. shinko is good to 149mph and i have had the speedo at 150mph. at a lower speed but sharp turn i could see the metzler braking lose. Ive only had the shinko brake lose one time and i was hitting it hard in a switch back at thunder and it only slipped a little maybe 2" and caught traction just as soon as i backed out of it. Metzlers are alot of fun to smoke.

You nailed it Mike, I'd rather have something sticky too... I love having radials now and that 200 really hooks well even with it being stretched 3" if you can mount and balance yourself then you can buy 2 Shinko's for the price of 1 Metz.. Not saying the Metz is a bad tire, just saying I prefer more grip even if it doesn't last as long...

I have done some nice burnouts with my shinko, I start out with the front brake, in second gear and feather the brake. I know that this isn't a "proper" burnout in many eyes but it is what it is. Here is one I did back in 2009:
IMG_0359.jpg I kept it spinning until I was at the light pole, the whole street was filled with the shinko "smoke"!

My brother had some issues with chipmunks in his garage so I told him I had a solution, a shinko solution!

Out with the old wasted shinko and in with the new!

I gotta admit those 200 are pretty cool but I'll stick with the ship to my door 170 for 92 bucks.

Guys..... Please help a brother out...... Please tell me your technique for burn outs. I'd rather not trial an error, and wreck in the process. Prefer to learn some technique then practice. Thx.

Also, I've only had the Dunlop Qualifiers on the front and rear. Is this a pussy tire or something??? Haaaaa. Seriously, I would like to know if something better is out there for the max. Thx kindly.

from a dead stop,1st gear into 2nd = 180 ft in 1st and another 80 ft out of 2nd then i got out of it. Gonna tri it again soon :ummm: maybe by thunder I'll have gotten used to the new 3 over swing arm!:clapping: and Id really like to get it on video.

That sounds like the one you did on my street last year :worthy:

Two fire hydrants +

I doubt that I'll be doing many, if any at all with a radial Shinko 200 on there! I'm not sure I want to waste a $230 tire and not sure how well Redbone would spin it!

If you want to do burnouts try the Metzler 880 if you want good traction get a Shinko tourmaster 230.

Hey Rick, I'll have my GoPro with me at Thunder, we can get a bunch of us crazies together and put some awsome smokies on vid!!!..................Tom.

Those Dunlop Qualifiers will Burnout pretty easily also.
I had one on my Max when I bought it and it was way to hard/slick for me, it would slip out way to easily in the corners.
So I burnt it off and put a Michelin Macadam 50 on it (they're no longer made though).
The Shinko TM 203 are definitely the Stickiest Rear Tire I have ever used on my Max, great for Hard launches and Riding hard through the Twisties.
I just bought a Bridgestone Exedra Max to test out this summer, I'll let you guys know how it handles in a few months.

Dont forget to push record Tom.:rofl_200: actully that wasent funny. I got one hell of a whellie downtown hamburg in my home town and you dident get it. I will never let you live this down. :damn angry:. :rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

^ I'm hoping the same thing.
About 90% of my riding is done on Twisty country roads.

I'm running a Bridgestone Battlax BT-45V up front and it works great in the Twisties, so hopefully that Exedra max will work well also.
