Wow,They dropped mercury sticks all together. Some kind of new non mercury thing only now.

The restrictors do go right above the tool.Make sure that you open the mercury vent.Mine is on the front right above the mercury. On the bigger yellow version it is on the back somewhere.

I know people that use grape juice (not recommended) or trans fluid to get it done...

You can make your own manometer...

The only problem with that is those fluids are way lighter than mercury.I looked into making one And I thought we figured each tube would have to be 8' long or something. The specific gravity has to be figured in.

question.... anyone know where the ending of the tube that attaches to the carb2 sync nipple goes?? just cannot see it

Underneath the plastic chrome looking cover there are rubber nipples, 2 on each side.

not the yellow circles in the picture, but directly under them you can see the cover. looks like a chrome letter H in the picture. Careful not to strip out the screws.

If you use the correct Phillips it isn't an issue. Most people use the wrong one.:whistlin:

I was thinking that was an ignition advance line, but I have never removed it so not sure where it goes.:confused2:

It goes to the vacuum sensor which controls supplemental ignition advance.

Have you ever seen the directions on the web to make a device that goes in line with it and gives you more advance? :ummm: I saw one last year but never messed with it.

Yeah, I'm using one I got from vmaxbitz.com. It has 3 settings. Normal, 3 degrees, and 5 degrees advance.

I have it set to 5* advance full time. You notice it when whacking to WOT during midrange rpms.
