I have a question about carburettors on my 1989 VMAX .
I have rebuilt them 5 times the last time I ran all the parts through a heated ultrasonic cleaner .
After fitting back on the bike I did the balance procedure and then adjusted the idle mixture screws .
Carbies 2-3&5 were easy to set but the idle mixture screw on number 1 carbie did nothing?

Can somebody help.

I assume the 5th cylinder is a typo?
Why do you keep 'rebuilding' them; what is the problem you are trying to solve?
If the idle mixture screw does not have any effect the it would seem reasonable to assume that thee is still a blockage somewhere in the system or something hasn't been put back correctly?

Hi MaxMidnight, Thanks for your response, sorry about the typo it should be cyl 4, It seems to run fine I've re-built carby No1 six times now so looks like I will have to give it another go.

Sorry for being blunt but if you have done this five times already without success then now it is high time to let someone else to have a crack at it.

Other possible resolution is that your carb has nothing to do with the problem.
