What if one was to have the back wheel on a dolly type gizmo - something like a cheriot. Problem solved yes ?
But then again, you may as well use a real trailer...BTW I agree, it think it would take a bit of a beating back there. Bouncing around side to side a bit, I can't imagine that wouldn't put stress on the frame and steering head.
As far as the straps, I think they would vary in tension around corners, but I'm sure the bike would pivot on the rear tire as you turn.
But as I said if your caught in a jam....it may just be the ticket to get you out of it. Short distance, smooth roads and hold up all the traffic behind you because you'd wouldn't want to drive too fast that way.
