How weird, well i left the clutch cover off so ill pull the pressure plate and give it a look tonight. Could you see the gap even with the pressure plate still bolted on?
Yes that was the problem, even after I put the bolts in there was still a gap between the pressure plate and first friction.Could you see the gap even with the pressure plate still bolted on?
As in the 6 bolts werent tight enough when you put the pressure plate back on? I went until the bolts stopped into their clutch basket arms but didnt actually crank on em. Figured the stock torque spec was basically wrist tight
Also what was the issue like when it happened for you?

They did used to have different parts numbers and were slightly different parts.
But the newer years all use the same Steel and Friction plates except for the 1/2 friction plate of course.
