I would question the Marvel Mystery Oil usage. How many times have you changed the oil since then? A lot of those additives have friction additives in them not good for a clutch

Yeah, thinking back i started noticing the problem after my first oil change with the synthetic blend. Then I used the MMO and it got more pronounced. I've only changed the oil once since the MMO.
It only occurs when I jump on it hard in the taller gears and V Boost kicks in.
I'm probably going to Chuck the Activo and see if it resolves. If not, I'm going to replace the friction plates.

Nothing a matter with the Barnett pressure plate but the Yamaha friction plates are actually better.

I agree with that and did go back to stock. Another reason is the bearing used in the Barnette. On mine, it seemed mis-sized and didn't roll smooth at all.
