Cobra exhaust, stock air filter. Unsure of the jetting, as I've only had the bike for a few weeks.

Full v-boost open and this is what it sounds like. Not the best vid, but gives you an idea of sound with the v-boost wide open.

I had a cobra on my 95, loved the sound and look of those pipes. Unfortunately they are restrictive

There was a set of Cobras on my Vmax when I bought it with the baffles punched out. They were LOUD but it was very hard to get the bike idling right. The stock exhaust (and many aftermarket ones) exit all four cylinders into a single compartment, which helps equalize the exhaust pulses. The Cobras are essentially one muffler per cylinder, and they never mix. Given that the front and back banks have differently shaped pipes, I think there are differing levels of backpressure between the cylinders, making tuning difficult.

I sold them on Ebay and bought a stock system. With the mufflers drilled out, it sounds pretty good and I finally got the bike dialed in.

Part of the funky idle is because it fires 1 2 4 then 3 on the next full turn of the motor all by its self. Not 1 2 4 3 in one revelution.
