right then, anyone have an opinion on not running a thermostat? just putting the 85 back together, planning water wetter & having issues finding a new thermo. :ummm:

no thermostat = no good. It won't ever get to run at the right temp depending on your ambient temp, weather and riding conditions.

For all Yam parts at a great price, call Gary McCoy @ Mondak Motorsports 406-433 6635

We are setup with Gary McCoy to receive better than dealership pricing. I've checked his pricing and it's dramatically lower than Ron Ayers and makes the stealers look like A-holes!

If you run without a Tstat I would make a piece to slow down the speed of the water some so that it allows it to have some time in the radiator to cool. The tstat when open slows it down to give the radiator the time it needs to cool the water.

Just a thought.
