Deploying... again...

I got a call about an hour ago from my boss. I'm deploying to Honduras in a few weeks. My Max is due in February (read as March), so it looks like I'll have to wait until I return to get that first ride in. And they haven't told me when I'll be getting back, yet.

So until then, put in a few extra miles for me and I'll check in here every now and then to drool over pics of my bike to be. Later. :banana:

That sucks! New toy on the way and you won't be around to play with it! Make sure to tell the dealership to leave it in the crate until you get back. You don't want any "test drive" miles on it.

Thanks for the offer, and thanks for the laugh. But I twisted my dad's arm and he has reluctantly agreed to pick it up for me, and keep it in good order until I return.

I found out two things today....

One, I'm gonna be gone until late October, so I'll be away for about nine months, not the 3 or 4 I was expecting.

Two, the maximum per diem, or daily living allowance, for the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa is $183.

In this case, 1 + 2 = about a $50k bonus when I get back to the States.

Are you in the army? We flew with the witchdoctors and another HH60 squadron that was stationed in honduras while I was on deployment last year. With a little luck, we might run into each other if we work with them again since I'm leaving in may to go back down to south america to do counter narco stuff.
