The owner has decided to buy it back from the insurance company. I know at one time there was some interest for a gen2 motor over in Europe for a SMART car project. They were willing to spend $10k for a complete Vmax engine delivered.. :rolleyes:
 
That one is going to be far from complete! The electronics and wire harness, throttle bodies, and other misc would cost a fortune! The engine is one of the few things that might survive enough to use for a carb conversion project though.
 
Looks like the bike itself didn't actually catch fire, just got really f'in hot inside that shed and melted everything.

Looks familiar to my two old snowmobiles when the garage burnt down. They never actually caught fire, there was gas standing in a melted-open gas tank. The fire investigator guessed by how things looked the ambient temp in the garage was probably around 900 degrees F.

Both are skidoos, one is an '03 REV beaver-tail and the other is a '96 Formula. Note the tires on the trailer didn't blow out either, but the aluminum salt shield melted.
