UPDATE: We are back up and fully operational, thanks for your patience...
Sorry guys, but at this time the VMOA is having difficulties with our PayPal account so until further notice, you will need to mail a check or money order to our treasurer:
Sheldon has been home country, back in an local hospital. Here is the last post as of July 17, 2013 from his wife's blog about his progress:
"Sheldon is in a quarantine because he was in the States and they want to make sure he isn’t carrying anything. The are very strict with getting properly dressed and washing and sanitizing hands. The ICU where Sheldon is is really busy and really not a place for visitors. We hope that Sheldon will continue to improve and be moved to another floor in the future where visiting will be much easier. With this being said, we ask for no visitors at this time.
Sheldon’s stiches and staples were removed. He got a cast on his left hand. His road rash burns on his ankles are being air out and treated with Polysporin. The are doing some tests to make sure the pneumonia has run its course as well as to rule out any new infection in his lungs. Other than that, Sheldon continues to make sporadic (or not!) movements, he open his eyes for a short period of time and can “look” around, and we think he tried to ‘smile’ but that is hard to say (though I saw his “smile” today and it really did look like a real smile, just with no teeth showing). Speaking of which, Sheldon’s tooth is chipped just like Lloyd Christmas’ tooth in Dumb and Dumber and this made me laugh. Sheldon would probably think that is funny too. "
The VMOA will continue to raise funds for his continued medical expenses until further notice. We thank all that have already made donations to his medical fund.
I'd like to thank you for your contributions regarding Sheldon's accident, as well as for your thoughts and prayers for him and our family. The days currently have been incredibly challenging as will the days in our future. Please continue to pray for Sheldon and his recovery. Sincerely, Natalie (Sheldon's wife)
It's great to see all the contributions coming in for Sheldon! In addition to the needed funds, the outpouring of caring, positive thoughts and prayers supporting Sheldon and his family while he recovers is outstanding!
Just so that anybody who has not met Sheldon will know we are helping out Vmax enthusiast that is in great need. His creative mods and love for his Vmax's is very apparent with either his 2009 or 2002. I look forward to the day that we can ride with our Vmax brother again.unk:
