hey guys-

anyone have their early model (41mm) forks apart? Curious what the thread pitch is on the fork caps and how far (depth) the threads go down into the upper tubes.

Thanks!

here's my reason for asking. I just picked these up which fit my 41mm honda nt650 forks:

I offered them $20 they came back with $30, so $40 shipped. Not bad

Was talking to my brother and measured them up, need about 12mm of threads to seat correctly. Since vmax forks are 41mm and a lot of hondas are (f2 for example), if the pitch is the same they should work. The pitch is 1mm.

also found this in my travels, kinda neat:

We have both and can't remember if I have the 41mm's left on hand but I think I have 1 or 2 sets. Not sure what the thread pitch is (Jedi would know). It's also going to vary on the thread depth based on the "class" of thread. You normally don't want a class 3 unless getting very close tolerance that needs either sealing or max holding power. Class 2 is most common.

I mention class because the higher the "class" the greater the depth of thread or higher the pitch of the tool.

I did not know you sold the smaller versions. Would you like me to take down the link? I thought you only sold the 43mm flavour.

all good information though, thank you.
