Thanks Sean for telling me which side the slack goes on. It took a few tries to figure out how to get the slack out of the intake side, hold the cam in place with a wrench while letting the chain hang loosely on the exhaust side, then realize I needed to find and disassemble the cam chain tensioner reinstall that and then let the wrench loose.
I ended up realizing that my wife could hold the wrench and I could take my time with everything else.
