I'd like to point out that "blowing" back through those vent lines doesn't necessarily mean they are unrestricted. Air PRESSURE may be allowed through, but then outside ambient pressure (much lower than your airgun pressure) would still be restricted and not overcome the kink to vent the carb properly.

Maybe try pulling a bit of vacuum on those vent hoses to see just how unrestricted they are......??

Just a thought.........

i actually blew thru them with my lungs:biglaugh: that way i could tell if there were restrictions.

Testing if plugs are getting spark is just the first step. You need to check out service manual and test pickup coils, primary and secondary windings of ignition coils, input ignitor voltage, output ignitor voltage (4), plug boot resistance, plug wire resistance. When my dyna coils went bad it would break up in the mid range. Top end and bottom were fine.

Wow.... i think it might be easier to just go with COPs lol Or do i still use some of those above igniton parts??? Like input ignitors?? Do those stay on the bike when you use COPs??

You use everything except the ignition coils, boots and wires.

Okay, well i guess ill be doing some testing this weekend when i get some free time.

Just outa curiousity if my ignition module or CDI or whatever the bikes brain is... if that was going out would that also cause a stumbling in my mids??

It's possible. What I have seen is that the bike will run on 3 or 2 cylinders if CDI and/or pickups go bad. One thing you could do is bring bike to a dyno and then do 4 runs....one hooked up to each spark plug wire. That's what caught my Dyna coil problem. You could see the graph line cutout.

Hmmmm sounds like a good idea. Im gunna do the COP conversion regardless of how the bike runs right now. And hey if it fixes the issue then sweet! but if not ill atleast be able to rule out my old igniton coils and such. Then ill test the ignitor and do the dyno run to check my A/F ratio, hopefully that will tell me if im rich or lean in my mids too.
