I been following this thread for sometime now, If he doesn't like the idea of Medic test driving it Medic could follow him and tell him to reline it in 2nd gear 3 times . That is usually is a good test for the tranny anyway.

I think he is completely ok with it. They are supposed to set something up for the next day or so.

Yes, "Test Pilot Fire-Medic" will be reporting to the assignment tomorrow evening. Sit.rep. to follow...
Oh yeah, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

It's been said many times before, but how cool is this forum? The folks here are tops bar none!!!

Just me, but if I were u Cat, i'd consider kyle's offer. And just like what was previously mentioned have him service it in the mean time. But that's just me--you have resources and know-how that i lack. Kyle'll would prolly honor your desire to not UPS, if you ask nicely! Hahahaha

regards from my tapatalking android...

Yeah depending on timing I will probably be interested. I been wanting to go back home to Houston for a visit with family so this might could help me out.

It would be worth it to me as well. I could pick the bike up when Im in Florida in January for the international meeting the club I ride with has. Its not that far from the bike but that would mean buying it and then leaving it there for 3 months...a lot could happen in 3 months ya know???

Plus how nice would it be to be in Houston? :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Well Fire-Medic gave his all on the test run....Thanks bud! :punk::punk:

This is what he said:

OK, here's a bit more and some good news besides. He lowered the price to $2300 because he sold the seat while waiting for someone to buy the bike. He has a stock seat in fine shape in-place of it. He was eyeing the Supertrapps next, but if you want the bike, he will leave them on. So $2300!

So here's the short version: yes, a solid bike, a good deal at the price. It could use some attention but it is not a weathered/abused vehicle.

It is a solid bike, well-worth the price, it's been awhile since I have been on mine and getting off my FZR1000, it felt 'different,' but after I ran it thru the gears a few times, 'muscle memory' took-over, and I began to recall how-much fun these bikes are. It starts, stops, steers, and accelerates just fine. I got the front end in the air, grabbed the sliders @ the axles-no significant play; w/the front wheel up in the air (static, not a wheelie!)the forks will readily flop side-to-side to the stops, depending on which way you nudge it. So, the steering head appears tightened correctly, no 'notchy' feeling from a too-loose steering head and too-many wheelies/hard landings, the back end seemed composed as it can be when you have stock 24K mi. shocks on it and you grab a handful of throttle in first gear as you initiate a corner ("can you say, "power-slide?" I knew you could!") The rear didn't have any unusual slop in the drivetrain that I could feel. The motor appears oiltight. The master cyl's have relatively clear fluid in them, colored a bit, but still transparent, so someone sometime has changed the clutch & front brake fluids. I did not check the rear master cyl for color/transparency. The rear brake slowed the bike but the foot lever is too-low to my taste, I felt like "Billy Elliott" (seen the movie?) trying to actuate the rear brake. No pulsing F/R. I hammered it to redline in 1st & 2nd and never had a hint of any not-staying in gear issues, not during the 1-2 shift, and not while going to redline in 2nd. It shifted cleanly up & down repeatedly.

That's it for now.

2300 sounds like a good deal no problem there but It is a bummer that the corbin was sold. He told me on the phone the other day that both seats were to be included with the sale.

I will PM Captainkyle today and try to entice him to make a trip to Houston. I will also call the FL guy and most likely drop him a deposit. I am only concerned that the bike will continue to loose parts if it isnt picked up soon. THATS my only hold up at this point. Everything Medic said sound good enough.

hahaha!!! Still waiting on the guy to send me his PayPal address to send payment. No word yet....Hope I dont loose out on this one too:confused2::confused2:

Just a quick Q. on the 2007 NOS. It's been ages since I bought a new bike. In your pick it shows one mile on the speedo. Do all speedos show mileage on a new unserviced bike? Maybe over the past 4 yrs. its been pushed around the showroom for 1 mile:ummm: Big showroom I guess.

I have bought and sold hundreds of NOS speedos overe the years and they all show something, never seen a zero mile speedo. In this bikes case the thing has been getting moved around the dealer ship over the last 4+ years from one spot to the next. I looked it over very well and truly it is a never serviced bike. No oil no battery no gas have ever been near this thing.
