There's a nice video of a BossHoss drag racing a Ninja on YouTube.

The Boss is pretty close by the time they hit the line considering he smokes tire and fishtails the first 60mph!

There is a guy here in town with a 'stock' boss hoss (and a Rune, and a Rocket, and etc). He doesn't certainly doesn't ride it like that, but I can attest to its 'throttle response'. From what I hear they have changed the transmission around. I remember back when the boss hoss was the boss hog and you bought it in kit form, the transmission it was always in gear. You had to pull the clutch anytime you wanted to stop with no neutral to pick. When you where starting it it, you had to stand on a special peddle while you cranked it till the vacuum was up enough to use the normal clutch leaver. God help you if you forgot to stand on that peddle.

:punk: Wow, Those are some nice American made bikes. Wonder how hard they are to ride? Spurs

I thought the modern ones had transmissions like a car.....N, R, and D, with drive being a two speed automatic. Just drive it like a scooter....roll on the gas and go.

Considering the ridiculous HP/torque numbers, they're not all that fast. Too heavy and can't put the power to the ground. A little 600 crotch rocket will smoke one with 1/4 the power and probably 1/10th the torque.

It's a flight of fancy, the "shock value" of a big block V8 stuffed into two wheels and little more. Same idea of people putting those enormous Packard tank engines in cars that were like 25 or 30L displacement, then getting literally gallons to the mile. Got lots of cool points, but little else.
