Compared the the FZ1, the VMax is an eye and earcatcher (with the Supertraps). Women like cruisers. It is just too bad so many of them have had Harley lobotomies.

I don't get that much any more with my Vmax. I've had it so long, and everyone around here must be pretty much used to seeing it by now.

But while on vacation and in Yosemite Nat'l Park week before last we encountered a bus load of Italians who had never seen Hondas quite like ours before. We came out of the gift shop to find our bikes being mobbed. One of their younger boys was about to climb on board the wife's seat when she intervened. They shot many, many photos, and three or four of them shot video. After failing to communicate for a couple minutes, one of them ran and retrieved their bus driver who spoke tolerable English. He was able to be our translater and convinced them that Honda was NOT RELATED to Harley.

Here's a couple snatshots I took in a hurry to capture the moment.vacation 2011 498.jpgvacation 2011 497.jpg

For some reason, they seem more interested in her blue bike. Mines' the red one just out of the picture, with the aluminum trailer hooked up. 3865 total miles for our trip. Great adventure.

I hear ya on the language barrier. Whil I was in Wrangell, I was in the pub having an O'doul's dark (best N/A beer around) when I heard a bunch of people around my chopper.

It was a bunch of fish processor workers from Turkey. The only thing I understood they were saying was "OCC, OCC" I kept saying "Noo, Daytona Custom Works!" lol.

I ended up lining them up and one by one they got on the bike and I took thier picture. It was funny seeing thier reaction and poses for the pictures.
They varied from flashing the devil horns, peace signs, and just plain ol' **** eating grins :rofl_200:

My V max get quite a few looks and questions/ comments from bystanders. Even more than my ols GS750 did, which got its share of attention. Of course my semi naked FZR once got a girl at a college bar to beg me for a ride around the block when I lived in Shreveport. :)
( My wife has never been on the back of the FZR, but a random stranger has)

I've gotten a lot of comments about how my bike sounds with the dual holeshot cans..."sounds just like my 454"...."my old 460 stock car rumbled like that"....ect.

Nice to run into people who can tell power lies within by the cadence, the tone, and not just volume.
