I have seen a couple of engines on Ebay, not like that would be fun work changing them out but it's an idea.. I will never get rid of my max, just don't tell my wife how much I want to put or will put into it...

The VFR may be a nice little bike...for your wife, but it will in no way, shape or form replace the Max. You wont like it, and it will be up for sale, and you looking for another Max. How about looking for another used Max, hopping it up with all your goodies, and selling off/ parting out with the old? Or even keeping it around for a parts source?

dude that sucks, chimera was/is a nasty max. must be a bitter end seeing how much time you put into its revival.
