All very good ideas guys, been kinda obsessed with the bike the last couple years and was in a long term relationship before that where the car wasn't a priority so I haven't messed with it in a long long time but it doesn't mean I just wanna take it up the ass for all the stuff that got stolen.. I'll try contacting the attorney general first and see about maybe getting a lawyer after that because its pretty obvious they aren't gonna budge on this.. ****** sucks....

Save your time & effort with the atty. gen. as this is contract law. A good hard nosed local attorney is all you need to see if there is something in your contract ( coverage & exclusions ) , that will give you some ammo to fire at the ins. co. , or not.

I would think if anything would cover this loss it would be your homeowners insurance.
They're are usually pretty specific about what "extras" will be covered or not.

Thing that burns my ass so bad is they should tell you this stuff at the beginning, my agent came out and seen everything when he signed me up over 5 years ago and seen I had a shop full of tools and car parts... I should have been told that the car parts weren't covered, I know you gotta read the fine print but I just thought "replacement value" was all I needed to protect my ass plus I've never once been broken into before so my own ignorance screwed me it appears. I'll talk to my lawyer I used from my motorcycle accident, if nothing else he might be able to point me in the right direction but seems in how I really don't have any receipts (all the stuff is old and I didn't save it when I bought it) I probably don't have a leg to stand on.. Probably my only recourse in this is finding the pricks and dealing with it myself...

Yup, I'm ******... Check your policies guys.... :bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head:

**** dude, I'm sorry. That sucks.

If its any help try asking yourself how big a deal this will be in terms of weeks, months or years and it may help you get some perspective.
Then again it may not. I've been robbed before and even though the financial part is no longer sensitive I still feel as though I was raped and still want my vengeance. It's been 20 years.

Thanks Rusty, just gonna be a very long time before I can finish up the car... I want vengeance too but I'm smart about it so if the situation presents itself I'll take it but not gonna cut my own throat doing it, I'm also a realist and know the situation will probably never present itself. The garage now has a deadbolt and I bought an alarm for both the shop and the house so it won't be as easy if they try again... Nobody I don't completely trust will ever be in my shop or house again.. I posted the pic for all of you guys to scan your own insurance policies to try to cover your *****, I don't want to see anyone else get taken for thousands of dollars like I just did...

Just a shot in the dark,Can you not turn your insurance company into the insurance comminison?I painted and repaired a wrecked vechile for a coustmer and returned it to them.after there apprazer came by and said looks good, your check is on it's way,I recived a check for 750 or something like that. With a letter that said i performed a betterment.I called them up and raised hell,Did no good.Turned then in to the insurance commision,They ruled in my favor,And i got another check,Still not for the whole amt.But better.Watch using you own vengance,Been there done that,Cost me dearly, assult, intent to commit bodily harm,Almost had to pay his hospital bill, stiches above his eye,and he said he had a neck ingury and come to court with a neck brace.Anyway it's free to try,Just a phone call.Im sorry,And good luck.

**** skipped this by accident.You may be.Put on a mask,if you find them.Damn theives.

Yea pop I'm not gonna fight it anymore, it's right there in black and white :bang head: I appreciate the idea though.. Main thing is for all of you guys to check your policy, my best friends garage burnt down a few years back and they covered car parts so I'm going to be insurance shopping now... Just check your policy real close..

Check again, I have Farm Bureau right now! They said they don't cover car parts period, no possible way to insure them...

Something similar happened to a buddy couple years ago...had a nearly complete snowmobile stolen, as well as a shitload of parts, almost enough to build another one. It was a skidoo factory race sled....there's not a ton of them out there.

Gave the police the VIN of the machine that was stolen, but that's all he had for ID purposes. In the next few days we started finding ebay listings from a new account seller about 50 miles away that listed a ton of skidoo race machine parts at giveaway prices. Mysteriously he listed all parts of the engine except the lower half of the case where the ID # was stamped. He called the police and told them about these suspicious listings, but in the end they really couldn't do anything about it....no proof. He reported the listings to ebay as suspected stolen, but this had no result either, the listings didn't even get pulled. Some of the stuff sold for dirt cheap prices, my buddy tried messaging the seller claiming he was local and wanted to inspect the parts before buying, but these went unanswered and likely spooked the guy, since nothing was relisted. We scanned craigslist for the city where the guy supposedly was and the surrounding area but didn't find anything.

A couple weeks later the stripped bare tunnel...only piece that had an ID number...was discovered dumped in a parking area not far from where it was stolen from. The vin matched.

It sucks...even when we "found" the stolen parts, couldn't do anything about it.

I have guys looking but whoever did this had been in my shop before so its doubtful I'll ever see my **** again. Thanks for all the kind words guys, I'm done thinking about it for today...

Sorry about your stuff, thank-god nobody did it w/a gun.

not about a stolen bike or parts, but a common theme to us, a VMax w/strange electrical issues

OK, hope you are able to find those parts, but it sounds like you will have a tough time proving they are yours.

Sound to me like it's somebody who knows you and has been in you're shop. I'm just like Rick when it comes to people in my garage man. I really hope you find you're **** AND the person who stole it..:th_biggun:

Check sw Michigan cl. Lots of cutlass parts from around 68.

Yea I've been looking but nothing catches my eye, they didn't take any Cutlass specific parts (that's how I know it was a gearhead) but it was racecar parts. Holley dominator, 8" race converter that'll fit any GM turbo transmission, nitrous kit, my SEVEN spare 10lb nitrous bottles, magnafuel 500 fuel pump with filter and regulator, and a bunch of other ****. It was all very high dollar race parts that I've been collecting for my car for the better part of 13 years...
