Happy Name Day to all the "Mark"s!
As you may know, I live in Hungary. In Europe (and other places) they celebrate "Name Day" for your particular name. I never heard of this until I moved here in 2009.
Yes, I'm red-blooded American, and it seems odd to me. A friend had a discussion with a Hungarian about when a child is born, there is a "list of names" you can choose from. He asked, "What if I wanted to name my child 'Moon Pie'?" In that situation you may be denied certain medical or education benefits. And you would need to spell it in Hungarian pronunciation. Sorry, I digress. I could go on for hours about the lack of liberty here.
For those with the liberty to name your child whatever you want... enjoy the day also!
