Harley handlebar switches - Indicator set up

Hi I have converted my handlebars and switch gear to HD as I got some nice shiny bits at a good price.
Wiring is a bit of a nightmare as the Indicators on Harley are positive fed to the switch and are auto cancel via the relay.
So you press the indicator and it is not a Switch as such you can turn off and on, but just sends the live to the HD relay and sets a timer to self cancel for the left or richt control.
Has anyone had any dealing with this or advise??
I think my best bet is to wire in a Badlands ATS-03 Self cancelling HD relay and bypass the old VMX relay ??

Got them for a good price and I know they have been converted before. Going for a more customer look
