help please

hey all
got a 95 vmax i recently purchased, was riding the other day at slower speeds (30-40) and at a redlight my buddy behind me noticed the very strong smell of fuel from my bike, so i take off and at about 1/4 throttle it kinda sputters, not enough to bog it down but like a miss thats not quiet a miss, could it be fowled plug? just wondering if this is normal on these bikes? also it did not go away for a good 5 miles but then it seemed fine for a few miles close to home, parked it cranked it and it doin it again

Not normal, sounds like dirty carbs. put some seafoam in the tank and see if it clears itself. If it doesn't do a search for the peashooter and/or shotgun cleaning techniques.

went to change plugs wires deff crumbled as i pulled them off, ordered some new ones hopefully that was it

A bad set of wires may have been a part of the problem but if after the wires you still have problems run the Seafoam, and if that does not clear it up time to get your hands in on the carbs for a cleaning

Pull & check your plugs while you're there with the wires.
