I appreciate all your help I bought it for 3200 it runs incredible any advice or maintaining it I appreciate it its stock well it does have a super trap exhaust wish was it more sound but it will have to do now any advice on oil to run or fluid to use and such would be appreciated I think the bike is incredible !!!

If the bike runs great...leave it alone!

Asking about the best oil to use is like asking these guys who they think the sexiest woman alive is. You will probably get pages of disagreement and arguing. Go to http://vmaxoutlaw.com/main.html, there is a great article about oil under the Tech section as well as other great information.

However, to get the party started, I run Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic Diesel 5w-40 along with a Mobil One Filter. It is the BEST.

You need to read all the stickies in the mechanical threads. A lot of your questions will be answered by just spending time reading them.

My #1 suggestion is to go radials as-soon-as you can. Radials transform your bike's handling in a way that no-other single switch can. A Kosman 17" or 18" wheel will run you about $400-550, and heck, a new one from Kosman, once you do the shipping, isn't much more! Two good quality tires (you use the stock front wheel, not-optimal, but it will work) and slap some HH pads into your stock calipers, and you're good to go and stop. The handling will be much-more inspiring, and your fear of using your bike to cut some corners or in the upper speed ranges will dramatically lessen or disappear. No it is not a 2014 sportbike, but radials can make your ride much better than it was from the factory. You should be able to do it for ~$1K even if you bought a newly-modded Kosman wheel from CA, and you can do it for about 3/4 of that w/a bit of prudent shopping.

Now, start to read, and take notes on what's interesting.

Do your reading, make a list of what is interesting to you from what you read, and use the "advanced search" to get more info on your list of what you want to do w/your bike.
hey I just checked THIERS A BRIDGESTONE EXEDRA G526 150/90/74V/15/M/C ON THIER IS THAT ANY GOOD ? YOU HAVE A LINK ON THE TIRES AND WHEELS YOUR TALKING ABOUT ?

wow diesel oil ??? really I didn't know that :worthy:

thiers 6 if I counted right and ty I just ordered then !!! did you see my other questions ? I left you a voice mail too .....
Radial Tires are fairly expensive to fit to a Vmax, you need at least a new rear Wheel re-sized for Radials (17" or 18").
I'd recommend that you but a set of Shinko Tour Master 230 Tires in the stock sizes (110/90-18 front and 150/90-15 rear), they are the stickiest BIAS tires you can get for a Vmax.

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/6187/i/shinko-230-tour-master-front-tire

As for Oil, I use Shell Rotella T 15W40 (it works Great and it's inexpensive
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Shell-Rotella-T-15W40-Motor-Oil-1-Gal/14958327
For an Oil Filter you will need to order one specific to your (early model) 1993 Vmax or get a Spin-on Oil Filter Adapter like the one from Cycle one Off:
http://www.cycleoneoff.com/vmaxpag2.html
(Scroll down the page to see it)
Then you can use a Bosch 3323 (or similar) from any auto parts store.

For antifreeze I just use Prestone in mine (it works in Aluminum Engines as recommended in the Owners Manual):
http://prestone.com/enmx/node/378

For Final Gear Oil use any decent SAE 80 GL-4 Hypoid gear oil, as stated in the Owners Manual.

PS
Here's the owners manual:

and the Factory Service manual:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55030067/VMX12%20Service%20Manual.pdf

PS
I'll check my voicemail later, but it's probably easier to just answer you questions here so I can post links.
And don't worry about these guys giving you a hard time too much, but you should read through some of the Stickied Treads especially this one:

I to like the 3323 Bosh for it's capacity and filtering capability. But these all fit:

About 3.25 inches long.
Purolator Pure One PL14610, about $6.
Mobil 1 M1-110, about $10.
WalMart SuperTech ST7317,
about $2. Made by Champion.

About 2.5 inches long.
Purolator Pure One PL14612, about $6.
Mobil M1-108, about $12.
Made by Champion.
Bosch 3300, about $6.

Keep your Supertrapps for awhile, you can enjoy playing w/them and there is no big-hurry to get something-else, unless you decide you like the sound or looks of something-else.

My broken-record: for my $$, going radials is the biggest change you can make to your bike, a new (used) rear wheel in 17" or 18" & 2 new tires, you're rollin'! Better cornering, better straight-line stability, more sure-footed, and all that may save your bacon some day.

Sean Morley's website (see the banner ad) has the big battery stock box modification directions if you want to go that way. A lot of guys are going to lithium-ion batteries for small size, much-better than stock power, and light weight. The 'save-a-buck' guys tout the assembled-gas-mat (AGM) sealed batteries which about eliminate your chances of acid corrosion unless the case splits.

Spend an hour or two if you can reading the stickies, every night, and you will come-up to-speed quickly on things like batteries, oil, tires, wheels, easy mods, and $$$ mods. It's all-there for the taking.

K&N Air Filter for $54.80 (including shipping) from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Fi...ywords=ya-1285
And no Re-jetting is required when using this and the Supertrapps.

For a Great Battery at a Great Price Read this (18Ah-283 CCA or a 22Ah-420 CCA battery):
http://www.vmaxforum.net/showpost.php?p=305864&postcount=146
Both of those fit in the Stock Battery Box.

This K&N YA-1285 fits the stock airbox on a Vmax (the wrong pictures are shown on the ad though):
http://www.amazon.com/YA-1285-Yamah...e=UTF8&qid=1383247942&sr=8-1&keywords=ya-1285
Or here (shows the correct filter in the picture):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1G20HA5613

And FM likes the Lithium Batteries but IMO they are way over priced and haven't proven to have the life span of the SLA/AGM UB12180 or UB12220 batteries.
My UB12180 has more CCA (283 vs 270) than the Shorai Lithium and has already been in my bike for over 6 years, I'd be surprised if it doesn't last 8-10 years.
The Odyssey PC680 (AGM/SLA) has proven to work very well also and can be found for around $120.
http://www.batterymart.com/p-odyssey-pc680-battery.html

And the UB12220 has a LOT more CCA (420 vs 270) than the Shorai Lithium battery.

Also you do NOT have to modify the Stock battery box with either the UB12180 or the UB12220 batteries.

So unless you really want to shave as much weight as possible from your Vmax for Drag Racing, I can't see any reason to throw away over $120 extra on a Lithium ($150-$190) over a much cheaper (and most likely, much longer lasting) ($40-$50) SLA/AGM Battery.
