If memory serves I have one of these DW bumpers... I think it's shaped like a T. I'll have to look I guess... I'd give it to someone for a half of what Dale wants but that half has to be a donation to this site... I can look for it tonight.

Chris

i'll take it. donation no problem.

OK I'll put it in my calendar to remind me to look. I'll make sure I have it all. If I remember right I was disappointed in the paint so I repainted it black. I NEVER installed it though.

thanks man, i follow. i'm not entire sure that I know what it is. i assume it just lowers the resting point? since i'm getting the cans from someone and the pipes from someone else i'll have to see if it all fits, and am ready to take it off if it looks fugly but def let me know if u got it.

hey danny.. i may be ordering a holeshot CS bumper or whatever it is. if i do maybe that will work out for you, altho from what i can tell all it does is move the resting spot of the CS down a little bit. not sure.. worth a looksy tho

Didn't know there was such a thing....let me know what you think of it. Thanks.

Dan, you don't need one of these with Marks pipes. This is for the holeshot pipes only. Without it, when you go to put up the centerstand, it would bang into the pipes/cans.

With the Marks setup all you need to do is remove the stock, rubber bumper and place it on the tab of the Marks pipes. The tab is located on the crossover tube. The hole drilled in my tab seemed a touch too small for the rubber bumper to fit. Also, if I were to keep my centerstand i would have had to grind about 1/16" off of the left foot of my centerstand. It was just too close for comfort to my muffler in the up position. It did not look THAT bad when on there but it looks way better off. It only takes a couple minutes to throw it back on.

Thanks Mike...I noticed the tab in Redbones pics. It's the same as the Marving's on my '99 and the slight modification doesn't seem like too big a deal, I'll keep it on.
OK...here's the real story, what is only a couple minute job to you young guys with good backs, is a colossal PITA for a gimp'd up ol' fart like me!! :biglaugh:

Well Mark just made my decisiom a lot easier. He doesn't do chrome anymore because unless your header pipes are doubled walled like the stock exhaust the chrome always turns colors and then looks bad.

Mark said that the black ceramic pipes that he does go well with the satin, flat or dull finish or whatever you want to call it....lol of my 2007 motor so I will stick with the Black.

Thanks for your opinions anyways..

Ron

Does Mark offer his stainless steel system polished?:ummm:

you guy's won't like the way your center stand looks with your new pipes. I had one of the CS DW bumper pieces also. It lowers it down. It really looks out of place. Just keep the bolts and install it when working on the bike. The spring just holds the center stand up it doesn't help the stand stay in place when your bike is on it. thats what the 600 lbs of Max does. Good luck

Maybe I just like playing with my Harbor Freight lift but it seems to me like I've always got a bike up in the air!

I even use it to polish up the pipes, just sooo much easier than bending over to do it. :biglaugh:

danny

Which lift did you get?

This one.

i always liked those lifts. the minute i get a nice garage i'm getting one of those. harbor freight here i come! oh hey also the new motorcyclist magazine we all got for free has a 10% off one item coupon on the back

Same here, I would love to have one but my garage won't allow it. plus I'm spending a bunch already, having my seat and chrome done by Sean, he also fixed my carbs ( what a guy ! ) the 2 shops I took my bike to really messed up the carbs, NEVER again, I will work on it from this point on. I also ordered my new exhaust from Mark's..... I need a spending break for a while..............lol

Is this it? I have other parts as well like the spring and what not but that was on the bike stock so I don't want to get rid of it.

Can anyone verify that this is the only thing Dale sends for the stop kit... 20 bucks? :confused2:

finally got mine in the mail. basically its just the T and a bolt. could have easily bought yours and gotten a bolt (had i known the pitch and diameter). question tho. how the fuck does it go on? i looked quick last night, and i still have my 'traps on but still not sure what/hwo it goes on...

actually i think it just replaces this circular stop thats already there. for some reason i thought it bolted onto the CS...
