1st Gen & 2nd Gen Interchangeable air intake covers?

Hello.. I’ve just purchased a beautiful 1998 VMax Gen 1.. but the right side intake cover is cracked.
Can I purchase Gen 2 intake covers and just install them in place ? Or do the size differently than the Gen 1 covers ?

There are multiple members on here from whom you could buy a used replacement scoop. Advertise under Parts wanted.

The material that the scoops are made from does not lend itself to an easy welding job. I have had an experienced welder fix one of mine which I then painted with Aluma blast by Martin Senour Paint, a rattle can fabricated specially for painting aluminum. You can do a search for Aluma blast and my screen name to see pictures of how the scoop turned out

If you can’t find one for sale, find CaptainKyle on the forum and send it to him. He’ll get it done. Trust me. In summary my max and me were t boned be a pickup truck and the damage was extensive. Thanks to Kyle you’d never know. Specifically one of my scoops was heavily damaged in about the worst spot possible for a repair. Not anymore

Ok thanks.. I’ll see if I can just use a small amount of JB weld for aluminum.. I know that stuff works great for anything cast metal /aluminum.. but if I’m not successful .. I’ll reach out for a price on a right -side intake

Hey TGill, don’t get them boxed up just yet.. I wasn’t even sure if you’d ship to Canada .
With Xmas just around the corner .. how about we wait until after Xmas , and we can figure out with shipping
