I'm running a Kerker with a carbon can now without any jet kit. I just shimmed the needles and the "Y", cleaned the K&N, and put 150 mains in it.

After setting the A/F and syncing it runs great and gets in the 40's for highway mileage and well into the upper 30's around town with sprited driving.

Thanks KJ......

how do you feel about losing the centerstand forever???:confused2:

My bike was totally stock when I got it. It still had the brass plugs over the A/F screws at 3500 miles or so when I threw on a set of Marks Pipes. It ran good with no adjustments at all. It wasn't "perfect" but it ran good and the plugs looked decent. If anything it was a touch rich on the mains and touch lean on the needles. The worst case scenario would have been dropping a size on the mains and throwing in a shim on the needles but it ran well enough to leave it alone until I got a kit from Sean.

I have heard Sean and others say that there are no issues running an exhaust with no carb changes, that's why I wasn't afraid to go ahead and do it for awhile.

I don't really miss it at all. to be honest with you I forgot about it until you just mentioned it.

if I need to put it up to to any maint or anything, I just put a nice 2x6 on the ol floor jack and its up in the air.

The weight saving was pretty good too.
  • Kerker pipe w/carbon can
  • misc N2O solenoids and lines
  • braced swingarm
  • Frame braces
  • 2 full 10 oz N20 aluminum tanks
  • full tank of gas
  • Full oil and water
  • No center stand
  • Wave rotors up front
My bike weighed in at 598lbs wet. The owners manual shows 624lbs wet.
26lbs lighter, not too shabby. Different rims would help even more :)

kyle have you found a nice xmas present for your bike???? what are you up too :biglaugh:

Well.....

I found a good deal on a Kerker.....and the temptation is strong.....:bang head:

But I really can't justify spending ANY money on the bike.....

I have a 9 year old that actually thinks HE should get something for Christmas:ummm:

The thought of permanently altering my bike has me more than a little concerned as well.....:confused2:

i hear ya man, but u can def do it in stages. minor modifications to the airbox after an exhaust, then buy a jet kit when you can afford it.

get the kerker for him but put it on your bike hahahah and when he ask's what he does what his present then you show him by starting up the bike and tell him to listen to the symphony of sound :punk::punk::rofl_200:

+1, Just think of the bragging rights you have just gave him :clapping:

He is actually terrified of the bike.......:confused2:
so more fun for you with the kerker ahhahha. you should have brought him to the pizza run, maybe that would have chg his mind, or wrecked him for life ahahaha

Well......I don't know what he would have thought.....:ummm:

I just hope he warms up to it because with any luck it will be his......

I hope he thinks having a Vmax that is the same age as him is cool.....and not just some old noisy thing that he doesn't have any interest in:confused2:

Another reason why I don't want to do anything to it that's permanent.....:punk:
